Albanians who worked in Italy and returned to Albania, even though there is no agreement on the mutual recognition of contributions, can receive an old-age pension in the neighboring country. There are two ways to become part of the pension scheme in Italy, according to which the pension is calculated under the contribution-based system and the case in which the benefit is calculated under the wage-based, salary system.
