The new law guaranteeing the integrity of persons who are elected, appointed, or exercise public functions obliges all current public officials, within two months of the adoption of a form by Parliament, to self-declare. If they refuse to fulfill the obligations provided by this law concerning integrity, the person will be treated according to the provisions of Article 4 of it. According to this provision, the ban on appointing or electing extends up to 20 years from the date of conviction, depending on the severity of the sentence.
