the new higher education law
with 78 votes in favor,
while the opposition left
the plenary session shortly before
the vote. Opposition MPs
expressed their opposing stance,
stressing that this bill is
stripping poor people of the right
to study and is also severely
undermining university autonomy.

the Minister of Education and
Sports, Lindita Nikolla,
said the reform is a necessity,
stressing that up to now universities
have been operating in anarchy, which
