Progressive taxation on salaries will start from zero. Every income will be part of the tax, which starts at 5%. Low salaries of up to 15,000 lek per month will fall within the income tax bracket. The tax will be 5%. Under the current law, salaries up to 30,000 lek were exempt from salary tax. According to the calculations, if a person received a monthly salary of 30,000 lek, no lek would be withheld from the salary as income tax, whereas under the new law they will pay 600 lek per month.
