On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the homeland, the Ministry of Defence awarded, about a year ago, the “Medal of Gratitude” to 1,000 veterans of the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War. “Gazeta Shqiptare” has obtained exclusively the full list, previously unknown, in which a number of personalities stand out, as well as high-ranking officials of the communist nomenklatura, former State Security employees, prosecutors and judges. Among the 1,000 decorated veterans are also former president Alfred Moisiu and Naile Gjinushi, the mother of the politician...
