The new law guaranteeing the integrity of persons who are elected, appointed or exercise public functions obliges all current public officials, within two months from the approval of a form by Parliament, to make their own declaration.
If they refuse to comply with the obligations set out by this law regarding integrity, the person will be treated according to the provisions of article 4. According to this provision, the periods of disqualification from appointment or election can extend up to 20 years from the date of conviction, depending on the severity of the sentence.
