Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, in a television interview given on 13 January to the Greek media outlet “Enicos.gr” at the height of the election campaign, described as wrong the official Athens stance regarding Albania over the maritime pact issue. The “mistake,” according to Tsipras, lies in the fact that Greece should not have given the green light to official Tirana for its membership in NATO and for obtaining EU candidate status as long as Albania refused to approve the bilateral agreement on the delimitation of maritime borders. “If we did not do what we should have done to stop the development..."
