Ismet Haxhia, one of those described as an accomplice in the murder of Democratic Party deputy Azem Hajdari, finally says “goodbye” to the prison cells, where he remained isolated for more than 15 years in prison. The brother of Izet Haxhia, the latter the former bodyguard of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, crossed the threshold of the high-security prison in Peqin almost two months ago, after completing the justice system’s sentence for the events of 12 September 1998, which were also considered the “murder of the century.” Sources from the General Directorate...
