Insurance companies increased the compulsory car insurance rate by 25%, within one day and by almost the same amount. Prices rose to an average of 18,500 lek per policy. The amount and the increase were the same for all types of vehicles, and the minimum value of a TPL is for motorcycles under 150 cc, which went to 6,804, from 5,660 lek on Tuesday, and the highest value, 19,044 lek, for vehicles manufactured before 2006.
