In 1994 Pjetër Arbnori writes a letter to one of the most distinguished Lords of Great Britain, Nicholas Bethell. Prompted by this letter from Arbnori, Lord Bethell on 6 September 1994 published a long article in the Independent newspaper, which is the most prestigious newspaper in the United Kingdom. Pjetër Arbnori, in his role as Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, asks Lord Bethell to use his authority to persuade the leaders of Sotheby’s that the proceeds from some auction sales they were making should be given to some political persecuted people in Albania.
