Considered a high seismic-risk area because of erosion and massive land slides, construction in this area has been suspended for decades, as has the cutting of trees. Trees planted 70 years ago in voluntary work to prevent erosion are being cut down by a construction company that has received permission to build four apartment blocks, right on top of the hill. Residents have reacted by protesting against the destruction being inflicted on their neighborhood.
