Clash after the presidential candidate’s statements
Any suggestion that NATO allies will not defend one another undermines the security of the entire alliance and puts American and European soldiers at risk, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement on Sunday.
His statement came after former President Donald Trump’s comments that he would not defend NATO allies who are not contributing enough financially to the alliance, if they were attacked by Russia.
