THE WEIGHT OF SPEECH AND OF ALL SUBJECTS: THE INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLE
In all the democratizing developments that are now involving our society, the mass organization and the youth political organization are becoming primary actors in the country’s political, social, economic and cultural life.
These bodies have undertaken to freely express the views and interests of their members.
They seek solutions to problems, put forward opinions and assessments, and help make the responsibilities assigned to them independent and effective. Looking briefly at these developments in our country over the last few months, we must gladly note that most mass and youth organizations are moving and acting as they should in a democratic system.
Very important is the fact that their activity is being carried out through democratic channels and with the broad participation of voters. As is known, the General Council of BSPSH, in order to define more clearly the role, functions and status of this organization, held its plenary session on 26 January 1991, at which the thesis “On the reorganization of the Trade Unions of Albania” was approved.
Alongside this, other mass organizations also operate in our country, such as the Democratic Front, the Women’s Union, the Youth Union, etc. All of them are increasing their activity in order to fulfil the demands and interests of their members. The Youth Organization is showing clear signs of emancipation and independence, entering a proper and necessary path for the new political situation. All these bodies are making political life in the country more lively and increasing the weight of the people’s voice.
Can it be said that some irresponsible people have taken positions and are acting contrary to the new spirit? Yes, such manifestations exist and, of course, they must be viewed seriously. New subjects, new organizations, also require a new political culture, a new civility in mutual relations. It is not right that, in the name of the interests of a group or an organization, the interests of the people, peace and order are undermined. Words must be given weight, but to the right, well-argued and responsible word.
Can it be said that political subjects have taken positions before even drawing breath? Of course the climate that has been created favors them, but that does not mean that every voice should be considered the voice of the people. Whoever speaks in the name of the people must prove responsibility, moderation and the ability to represent their interests with dignity. Only thus will democratization move forward without turning into anarchy.
Can it be said that political forces have taken positions? Yes, but these are issues that belong to the time and to the maturity of the processes. Within this framework, the press, public speech, organizations, forums and open meetings have an important mission: to help the people understand, judge and decide consciously. What matters most is that the interests of the people remain the compass of every subject.
DEMOCRATIC PROCESSES IN THE PEOPLE’S JUDGMENT
The newspaper’s contributors have dealt with people from various areas of the district who follow social and political life with interest.
Wherever one may be, there are noticeable varied desires for freedom of thought, for open discussion, and for clarity regarding the processes our country is going through. From conversations with people of different ages and professions, it emerges that the people want peace, order, work and concrete solutions to everyday problems.
The broad masses look with interest at efforts toward democratization, but at the same time they demand that these processes not be used for empty debates and intrigues, for conduct that undermines the stability of social life. Many say that there must be more sincerity, more responsibility and fewer grand words. The people, whom everyone claims to speak for, want to be heard not only in speeches but also in decisions.
For this reason, in the discussions held, the need to strengthen legality, to increase the role of mass organizations and to broaden people’s participation in public life often appears as a demand. There are also critical views about the slowness in solving economic problems, about shortages in the market, and about difficulties in transport and services. All this shows that democratic processes will be judged by the people not by declarations, but by the concrete results they produce in everyday life.
If institutions and various subjects show sensitivity to the people’s voice, they will win their trust. Otherwise, every beautiful word without support in deeds will remain only a sound. The people judge calmly, but also fairly, all those who undertake to speak in their name.
We must analyze non-fulfilments in time
Labour productivity is the first element for increasing the enterprise’s independent income.
At the brick factory “Nderi i Partisë” in Laç, despite difficulties in supplying raw materials, efforts have been made not to allow a drop in production rates. According to the data provided, during this period measures have been taken in the enterprise to better organize work, to make use of production capacities and to more carefully monitor technological discipline.
This does not mean that difficulties are absent. On the contrary, the management and the collective face every day problems of securing raw materials, shortages of spare parts, power cuts and transport problems. But, as emphasized in the analyses made in time, shortfalls must not be allowed to be covered by excuses. They must be uncovered, analyzed, measured, and the causes that produce them must be struck.
What is important is that within the enterprise each person’s responsibility for output, quality and the economy of materials should increase. The director of the enterprise stresses that only with work discipline, with continuous concern for the smooth running of the process, and with a high sense of socialist ownership can production rhythm be preserved. In this framework, the party organization and the front organization must also help more to mobilize people and create a spirit of demand at work.
The periodic analyses have also identified the reserves the collective has for increasing production and improving economic indicators. Work is underway to make more rational use of working time, reduce losses and better organize the department. In the end, success comes not only from words, but from the concrete overcoming of every obstacle that appears in practice.

The discussions held showed that agricultural production cannot move forward without better work organization, without stricter discipline, and without greater responsibility from the managing staff. At the meeting it was underlined that mistakes should not be hidden, but should be stated openly so that they can be corrected.
The analysis spoke of the need for more careful management of the sectors, better control of spending, and frugal use of means and materials. It was said that every waste, every tolerance toward violations and every lack of responsibility has consequences not only economically but also in the moral climate of the collective. Therefore, leaders are required to set an example in correctness and accountability.
The speakers also raised concern about the slow pace of some works, about shortcomings in fulfilling seasonal tasks, and about the need for every cooperative member to feel greater responsibility toward common property. In this context, the role of the basic organization and the management council was emphasized in keeping alive the spirit of work and control.
In conclusion, the participants expressed the view that the times call for more work and less self-satisfaction, more accountability for results and fewer excuses. Errors do not please you; they teach only when you acknowledge them and act to correct them.
I need a wise approach
Having been accustomed for years to someone else leading you, you cannot move without direction, without clear guidance. But today’s time requires each person to think with their own head, to distinguish what is right and what is wrong. Often people feel tired of grand words, empty promises and the uncertainties that accompany changes.
In this situation we need more wise approaches: more moderation, more listening to one another, more patience. This is not a time for shouting, for insults, for haste. It is time to understand what is happening, to ask questions, to discuss and to draw sound conclusions. If each person only seeks to be right and not to find the truth, then we will all lose.
This is also felt in everyday life. People want bread, peace, security, work. Dry words no longer warm them. What warms them is a solution, humane behavior, an outstretched hand to help. That is why a wise approach is not weakness, but civic strength.
It helps you not to fall prey to provocations, not to take every word you hear as truth, not to give space to resentment and revenge. Only in this way can we move forward without falling. Only in this way can we preserve the best values a human being has: reason, understanding and responsibility.
“The party debate with work”
They say democracy requires pluralism. Many people are stirred by this word. But it means that, in order to achieve this pluralism in our society, conditions must be created so that each person can freely express their own opinion. Of course, this cannot be done by disturbing the peace of work, by creating divisions and by making a mockery of the duties each person has in their place.
The party cannot be separated from work. The real debate is the one that leads to a solution, not the one that distances you from your duties. If we have mistakes, they must be spoken about; if we have shortcomings, they must be corrected. But all this must be done responsibly, with administrative and human honesty, while not forgetting that the times also ask us for moderation.
