7 icons stolen
Seven icons of exceptional artistic value have been stolen from the church in the village of Hoshtevë, in Zagori, in the district of Gjirokastër. They measured 1 m x 40 cm and were made by Albanian painters in the last century.
In the church of Hoshtevë, one of the places of worship that withstood the ravages of time, its valuable objects—and especially its icons—were well protected and secured. This makes the route taken by the criminals to enter and steal its valuable icons even more suspicious.
