Unlike the customary practice of announcing various deaths in the city, on Tuesday, 26-year-old Adelina Salla from Sheqeras in Korçë, married in Elbasan, was to be buried quietly, without such an announcement. city, on Tuesday, 26-year-old Adelina Salla from Sheqeras in Korçë, married in Elbasan, was to be buried quietly, without such an announcement. Her death occurred very suddenly and under highly mysterious circumstances. This woman, who had one child and was pregnant, was found drowned in her home on 18.7.94. The incident also coincided with the return of her husband, an emigrant from Italy. According to widespread opinions and several oral statements from municipal-services workers, we learned that before this death there had been serious quarrels in the victim’s family between the lady of the house and the daughter-in-law (statements made by the victim’s brothers). As they also told us at the police station, the drowned woman’s husband has been detained, but it is still too early to accuse him directly, while material evidence to blame him is lacking. Experts are working to clarify the circumstances of this crime, determine the causes of death, and bring those responsible to account. BESIM DYBELLI
