Strikers’ appeal to the Constitutional Court
A complaint was submitted to the Constitutional Court by the Association of former political prisoners concerning the suspension of the hunger strike by the leadership of this association. The complaint was filed in the name of 30 convicted former communists, addressed to the court, as confirmed by the spokesperson of the Constitutional Court. Regarding this matter, court press spokesman Zenel Sulëtar said that under the Constitution everyone has the right to address the court. Not only such an institution, but foreigners as well may address it for any kind of problem. The Tirana court has taken an administrative decision. In addition, there are many politically persecuted people who can no longer strengthen democracy, and for this reason a person for three days cannot have any change. On this matter, Zejnel Sulëtar is the chairman of this constitutional court. In addition, the Tirana court took a decision on 30 June, stating that the right of the persecuted is the right of political persecuted people, and the decision is being held by lawyer Spartak Ngjela in a position [?], and the final hearing was the decision. It is still not known on which day a final decision will allow the lawful continuation of the strike.
