Afterwards, the president answered all the many questions from journalists. According to what was broadcast on television, he said that the referendum was a kind of contest between political forces, that the result was a disappointment from Berisha’s time in the presidency and from the very clear definition of the policy that would be followed. The president did not answer a considerable number of questions, interpreting them as issues requiring reflection. The discrepancy in the numbers on the ballots and the statements in Tirana by some of the journalists, according to him, were inappropriate and not decisive.
