are not in the right place
The United States are very concerned that after this visit the Albanian parliament dismissed the President of the Court of Cassation under circumstances that do not appear to comply with democratic procedures. Our subsequent requests regarding this matter have not been answered satisfactorily by the Albanian authorities.
The latest developments in Albania call into question the Helsinki Accords and the Final Act, as well as the other documents adopted by it in accordance with the Helsinki procedures. For this reason, the United States has decided to raise its concern about Albania at the OSCE session of 2-19 October on the Review of Human Dimension Implementation.

“The president of the company ‘Uran-Mir,’ Mr. Napoleon Shtylla, imported not 300 tractors as declared at customs, but 630. The difference of a full 330 tractors passed through the Durrës customs at night without inspection and by deliberately evading the fiscal obligation. This act constitutes the smuggling of the century in Albania. All 330 tractors were sold for 9,000 dollars each, with a total value of 3 million dollars”
