Criminal proceedings begin against Abaz Ermenji
"Anti-Genocide" - Former Balli commander under investigation
The Tirana Prosecutor’s Office requests his personal file from the State Archive
The Organization of Veterans of the LANÇ accuses him of war crimes
Another figure from the Second World War is also under investigation. After former partisan commander Shefqet Peçi, yesterday it was the turn of former Balli commander Abaz Ermenji, who is being investigated for war crimes. Only three weeks ago, the Organization of Veterans of the LANÇ submitted a request for criminal prosecution to the investigating authorities. On the three pages and in the 10 points of the request, the facts on which the lawsuit by the partisan veterans is based are listed, signed by their chairman, Mr. Pirro Dodbiba. Having returned to Albania after 50 years, only two months ago, the current 82-year-old head of the Balli Kombëtar party will have to face, in the midst of the current election campaign, accusations of having killed hundreds of people during the war. After only a few days, the investigation file has been opened, while the first actions have also been taken by the Prosecutor’s Office of the capital.

Hajdaraga: “Membership in the Socialist International does not certify coming to power”
Ahead of the presence of journalists, yesterday the vice-chairman of the SP, Luan Hajdaraga, opened his meeting with socialist activists from zones one and two in the hall of the Academy of Arts. With a somewhat different appearance from previous meetings of socialist MPs, where they had presented the alternative policy of the SP to their members and supporters, yesterday Hajdaraga seemed to want to point out precisely those issues which his party to some extent sees with no small amount of concern.

350 American marines arrive in Lurë
They begin training in cold-weather conditions
Under sub-zero temperatures, yesterday evening 350 American marines arrived by ship on the coast near Durrës; they will carry out a winter-conditions exercise. Meanwhile, their personnel did not arrive by helicopter transport or air bridge, but at the 1,500-meter heights of Lurë[?]. Yesterday too, the marines carried out living arrangements in snowy conditions.
The expedition headquarters is said to have managed to save the entire amount of 60,000 dollars that would have been spent on aircraft after using ships[?]. If the American marines[?] were to train in winter conditions in the northern areas...
