She attempts to dispose of her illegitimate grandchild

- “Murderous” grandmother detained; investigation begins KORÇË — She wanted to get rid of her daughter’s illegitimate child, but landed herself in prison. The shocking incident took place two days ago in the village of Libonik. An elderly woman is the protagonist of this criminal incident. The illegitimate child was found abandoned in a mountain shelter, where the cracks saved him from the threat of death. Torn between grief and shame over the unwanted birth, L. Kulla’s decision to dispose of her illegitimate grandchild prevailed. She took the innocent child from the breast of his “sinful” mother and carried him to a shelter above the village. Left to the mercy of fate, the child was discovered by chance, setting the police in motion as well. This was the start of a difficult ordeal for the “murderous” grandmother. Preliminary investigations established her responsibility in the incident, and the police ordered her detention. According to unidentified sources, the arrival of the illegitimate child had been yet another act in the social drama of the Kulla family. Their poor living conditions (the family of 11 lived in one room) were made worse by the addition of an illegitimate baby. The sick grandmother thought she was translating this “misfortune” into action, but only worsened her own fate, facing prison in old age. Investigators say L.K. committed the criminal offense and was placed under arrest; criminal proceedings have been opened against her. Meanwhile, the little boy and his mother have been reunited, this time under supervision in one of the isolated rooms of the Korçë maternity hospital. GËZIM ASHIMI
