The remaining 65 illegal migrants, most of whom are Albanians and Turks of Kurdish origin, were apprehended near the coast in the vicinity of Puglia, inland, or after arriving in Italy on regular ferry services but carrying false passports. The fine weather prevailing in this part of the Adriatic has led to an increase in crossings by undocumented migrants landing in Italy from Albania.
