“I refuse to be involved in schemes of this kind that play with the victims’ blood”
The “armored” team from the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office arrived the day before yesterday at Tepelena prison to complete the reopened 2 April case file. But the team played only the role of a “special postman.” Instead of answers from the imprisoned opposition leader, Fatos Nano, they took away with them a statement by the latter, in which Nano recalls his illegal activity in the post of prime minister, in which his official, political and civic role then and now is alongside the victims, in defense of the law and in finding and punishing the real culprits, while also warning the prosecution and other specialized bodies, visibly instrumentalized by the political authorities, which are dealing with 2 April in accordance with the orders and electoral-political schemes of the Berisha regime. For these reasons, Nano boycotted the investigative team so as not to be involved in the actions of the authorities and the prosecution, which he calls schemes that play with the victims’ blood and with the rule of law.
