“If the heads of local government bodies, members of the Justice bodies, heads of the Public Order and SHIK bodies, as well as active-duty military personnel, submit their candidacy for parliament, then they shall be relieved of their duties 25 days before election day.” This is the full paragraph of Article 19 of the electoral law, words that anyone would understand leave no room for interpretation. All the more so when it concerns a law drafted and approved recently by the current parliamentary majority itself. Under these circumstances, Gazidede and Musaraj must—and are entitled to—choose either resignation from the posts they hold or withdrawal of their candidacies for parliament. page 3
