PS, an old quarrel
Prime Minister Fino confirmed in private to TESH, which yesterday reported the existence of divergent groups within the PS as a result of a socialist split. The PS members, together with the leadership of the Forum and those grouped in socialist networks, after the incident discussed the change of chairman Nano and the congress’s rightful role in the discussion.
Nano and the congress’s rightful role in the discussion. In Tirana, a PS deputy[?], in order to resolve the reform group, which yesterday reported the existence of different and divergent groups in the country’s largest party. The head of the parliamentary group, Ndre Legisi[?], in a few words says that “nothing happened, everything is normal in a party, but let us see what the right of the PS means”.
But with the approach of the PSE congress, a new process of discussion and reflection is entering, which is reflected in two different wings: one with the “reform wing”, which is reflected in the calm conservative stance, and the other with the “quarrel wing”, where the presence of FRESSH and other leaders is felt more strongly, seeking to strengthen the role of the president’s figure, currently, in a new transformation of the PS.
Prime Minister Fino has stated that the party’s top leaders, mainly those linked to FRESSH and the youth, are dissatisfied with the way the party is being led and with the possibility of refreshing the forum and the grouping. The fact is that an idea is circulating to create a “new link” between the forum and the grouping.
In this climate, Fino declared that instead of clearly reading which camp belongs to reform, it is better to clarify that every opinion should be stated openly so as not to create confusion. The parliamentary elections, the place where the party is also expected to reflect, should take place in a combined congress, according to a new platform.
On the other hand, in an interview with TESH, a representative of the youth in the PS, Fatos Klosi[?], said that there is little chance of convergence, since some of the leaders are closer to Nano’s line and others closer to Meta’s. Meta, before setting off for Mukdahan[?], was asked by the correspondent whether the conflict in the PS is at work and whether it is creating problems within it. "He said that the problem is that in a party the freedom of thought and grouping must be preserved".
Despite all this, it was officially announced that today at 18:00 FRESSH will submit a petition to support some of its demands, including the way the congress is organized, relations with the party leadership and the role of young people in the decision-making forums.
He was rather reserved when asked about Meta’s position, but made it clear that the clash exists and has not been closed. Faced with a new wave of discussions within the party, the voices about a new split inside the PS have grown even stronger.

A serious accusation made by a patient’s relatives against the medical staff
Day by day, conditions are being created and worsening for bringing newborn children into the maternity hospital, exposing mothers and their children to a series of disruptions and insecurity regarding medical care. It may sound unbelievable, but the relatives of a patient denounce that in one of the capital’s maternity hospitals, one of the doctors and several nurses killed her baby, leaving the mother in great danger. It is reported that the mother, who had come to give birth in the maternity hospital, was waiting anxiously and joyfully for the arrival of the child. However, during the delivery her condition worsened and, according to the family, the staff did not react in time, because the main concern was the demanded payment.
The relatives claim that the doctors and midwives asked for money in order to carry out the intervention carefully, while when this was not given immediately, the treatment of the patient was neglected. They say the baby lost its life because of the delay and improper treatment. Their denunciation is serious and calls for an immediate investigation by the relevant authorities.
According to relatives, the maternity staff not only concealed the truth, but also exerted pressure on them not to make the event public. The case has caused great indignation and has once again raised concern about corruption and the lack of accountability in the health system.
If these accusations are confirmed, we are dealing with an unprecedented scandal, which requires not only criminal punishment but also urgent measures to guarantee the safety of mothers and newborns in public hospitals.
