When the President of the Republic unfurled the ribbon at Council of Europe Square, Dan Everts was quite concerned.
“But where is the OSCE square?” he shouted loudly. “The OSCE has brought senior politicians together 18 times and intervened 12 times to resolve internal crises,” Ramadani, the special representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, was tallying up. Papakonstandinu—the latter, as far as Tirana was concerned, said there were plenty of other squares.
“There are, but they all have names,” Ramadani teased him.
“It’s Ajdin Sejdia’s pit. Why shouldn’t it be called the OSCE pit?” Vili Minarolli, who was standing nearby, interjected.
“There’s no need for us to take ready-made pits. We are capable of digging pits ourselves in Albania,” Ramadani concluded, and Everts hurried away.
