Greek police have launched another “sweep” operation targeting Albanian migrants. Just yesterday, they turned back 300 people at Kakavijë, while over the past week this number exceeded 1,000. Albanian border police asked for explanations, but their Greek counterparts said they were turning back those without visas. However, at the customs post, some people say their passports with valid visas were also torn up. Many of those turned back say they were mistreated; there were even no shortage of Serbian slogans from the Greek police, such as: “We’ll send you to Clinton,” “We’ll hand you over to NATO” — p. 6

The opposition revives in Serbia Vuk Drashkoviç, Yugoslavia’s deputy prime minister, said on Tuesday that no “possible crime” committed in Kosovo should be forgiven and called for “the calming of nationalist passions.” “Immediately after the war, we must conduct serious investigations into possible crimes committed in Kosovo,” he said at a press conference.
