The culmination of several months of diplomatic efforts led with unmatched zeal by the West, yesterday afternoon in Belgrade they signed a ceasefire and an agreement with the Commander of the American Forces in NEW YORK for the withdrawal of a ceasefire agreement, the withdrawal of Serb units and paramilitaries from Kosovo. This means that, in the end, the madness of the Albanian government led by the US, the Bufi government and the February 4 Rambouillet agreement in the US were unnecessary. In the text of the agreement, published by the American general Jackson, it is stated that international peace will be established in Kosovo, that the Serb police and army forces will withdraw, that refugees will return and that an international peacekeeping force will enter Kosovo under NATO command. However, after the signing, the text was not made public immediately, but the Serbian delegation in Kumanovo asked NATO for a two-hour deadline to consult with the leadership in Belgrade. This delay meant that a few moments later the Alliance’s planes resumed bombing, which according to military experts would be much harsher. As a result, instead of respecting the ceasefire, the Serbs had sent tanks toward the border with Albania. Nevertheless, the Albanian government requested US intervention with the February 4 Rambouillet agreement and the US government. This was a sad statement, but it was the latest news from the “Majko” government; what was interesting was that none of the self-consumed cabinet members had a different opinion. Bufi said that the privatization government is for Albanians. Asked at a press conference by a group of journalists why he was not also asking for the withdrawal of American troops from Albania, Majko replied that, unlike the Rambouillet agreement, this would be decided by referendum. In fact, the government in Istanbul had also decided this. Bufi realized too late that Albania is a regulated state and one can understand whether a government with this kind of argument and challenge would deserve the name Albanian. This may also have been a referendum, with a kind of civic spirit. Adding that NATO chief Solana had stated yesterday that Belgrade would not move in any direction without the final signature. The delay in signing caused the final air explosion in Belgrade.
