Sali Berisha: Now it is Chamëria’s turn
Yesterday at the National Assembly of the PD, the democratic leader set out his ideas on the Albanian lands in Macedonia and Greece
Tomorrow the PD enters the Parliament chamber. "We set the order for 5 months"
The PD, now a real opposition
Yesterday, while announcing the triumphant return to Parliament, at the PD session the party finally enters the course of normal politics, building a clear opposition, but always in confrontation with the socialist government. "Such a change came from pressure from international factors but above all from pressure from the democratic electorate, convinced by the desire to return to power once again."
Thus the developments in the framework of the Kosovo crisis came to its aid most, even though the entire new unblocking kept its policy focused on the central institutions.
Above all, it was the opposition leader Sali Berisha who strongly encouraged the climate of returning to the Parliament chamber and the administration in connection with the conflict in Kosovo, while the move not to reflect it in the government either, which would be closer to the path of growth and would comply as much as possible with its approach to these standards.
If the final decision were to be taken by the leader of Kosovo, it would get a chance from politics in the face of the opposition of the government of Fatos Nano and by taking advantage of the usual growth of the presidency. On the other hand, the new head of Albanian democracy finds new elections underway. The fact that this is a partial political reform of a power that is growing also shows an increased risk of entering government. In this context he and others say that elections are inevitable and that the new state structures without elections will turn into a pre-conflict situation.
On the other hand, Sali Berisha was the one who strongly encouraged the climate of returning to the central institutions, while the shifting of the Kosovo crisis also gave new life to his politics.
But in the middle of this development, measured and for others the full return of his party to a normal course, was Sali Berisha’s speech at yesterday’s meeting with the top structures of the PD that confirmed this. In his speech, he spoke about the return to Parliament, about the government and about the hottest issues, such as the Albanian territories and the national question of Kosovo. He then focused on the economy, corruption and the entire administration as an obstacle to reforms.
Suddenly, a statement by him about what should have been a referendum in Kosovo also made the difficulty of party reform clear. In the short term, the return of the PD to Parliament and a clear new opposition was met with enthusiasm from the structures, but it also chose on its own. The fact that the PD has returned to the deserved opposition rhetoric shows that the coming crisis will be entirely political.
