Kosovo, the need for a new platform

Postwar developments in Kosovo are showing that for the Balkans, the postwar period will perhaps be even more difficult than the prewar one, although Kosovo's difficulties will depend relatively more on what the international community and its allies will be able to do to make progress in unlocking the many knots that will be overcome, from the temporary prelude to the further developments on the ground. The postwar clashes in Kosovo are showing that for the Balkans, the postwar period will perhaps be even more difficult than the prewar one. This is because the current developments there make a review of alliances and a gradual clarification among the new elites with whom Albanians have long coexisted in the first place necessary. Together with the magnificent framework for relations between Albanians on one side, and others on the other, this whole situation will continue with confrontations because in both groups there are still individuals bitter from hatred and inherited prejudices. On the other hand, if the current problems continue, then in agony it will be easier for other resentments to erupt. Perhaps even from today they are erupting quite irrationally. The new administration of Kosovo has the best chance to resolve this, and it must make the first turn with concrete actions that convince both Albanians and minorities that it is being governed with justice and efficiency. In any case, for the international community to set its machinery in motion, the Albanian thread will also have to be set in motion. First, it must not allow exposed paramilitary structures to attack for revenge or to seize someone else's property. If the unified warnings and movements of KFOR continue in this charged area, not worse but much better. Meanwhile, until now this whole situation has been similar to reactions that come as destructive outbursts from a considerable part of the foreign side, if it legitimizes the work of the international community. Legality and peace, with the multiplication of withdrawals and seemingly as a different stable crown for a future period, offering opportunities for war. This could bring the first part of the war's defeat to an end and begin the second part, that of building coexistence. If one fails to understand the situation that is now governing Kosovo, it is wrong to end only with the punishment of criminals. Because every living being, beyond what is within it, has behind it a reason, whether true or invented, with which it is propagated to damage the opposing camp. Therefore, just as important as being fixed on the map of the new war, this new platform is unlikely to create the necessary trust among Albanians for postwar Kosovo. Otherwise, the new platform of administration and politics will be hopeless and with consequences for later.
