PD: The rally could not become a Congress

A chronicle of the parliamentary failures. Weakness and servility instead of debate PD: The rally could not become a Congress Europe is afraid: Berisha brings danger to the Balkans Pages 4 - 6

Fanatik, Berisha’s gravediggers

GAVROSH HILA All his life Saliu fought the rise and the departure of the PD, ordering, guiding and eliminating those opposition figures who drew attention and made efforts for Berisha’s new political organization. They were those democratic obligations! A struggle after persecution. In exchange for a pup and a nod from Berisha, as in the old communist regime, he remained in place and was managed, while the dissenters suffered the actions of fascist occupying monarchs and of his own dictator. But if the puppies of the fanatics of the spectacle created by Berisha are to be permanently rationalized by demonizing Berisha, then so be it! Scenes from the sight of a Saturday rally on 18 September in Tirana’s “Skënderbej” Square. In the name of the drama of bringing the guilty to justice, the PD has ended up with an improvised stage and a megaphone-led command. They themselves command and incite the crowd. Whoever grew angry was shouted at through the megaphone as an “enemy” for everyone’s hand in motion. The rally, fixed in a primitive psychotic way, presented the image of a crowd turning against itself, with a confused and senseless movement. No one spoke; everyone obeyed. The only ones allowed to shout were the proclaimers of the flame and the officials who kept the crowd powerless and dependent on command. Berisha not only played on anti-communist sentiment in order to return in that messianic way, but he also appeared with a language of hate, with a banal and crude vocabulary that resembled more a personal vendetta than a political project. Instead of debate, instead of proposals, instead of opening up the party, he offered a theater of accusations and insults. Whoever follows him down this road buries politically not only himself, but also the hope of a normal Albanian opposition. Page 8

Scandal over the American lottery

Many Albanians risk being sent back Data from the American Department are drawing people in to get the green card, and many families have come to the USA with the green card and many now feel threatened. Thousands of others do not know that the rules of the game have changed. The real stories of winners and losers, after the new changes, document forgery and the endless waiting outside the American embassy have cast doubt on trust in a system that seemed to offer hope. There are middlemen and swindlers who take money from emigrants, promising documents and shortcuts to America. Some of them end up being sent back or stuck in endless procedures. Page 8
