The DP leader himself has seen this reality more clearly than anyone. Specifically, for six months now, barring an isolated, unintentional instance, the opposition leader seems finally to have freed himself from his former mania for [going to] roads and squares. It is quite possible that giving up rallies even in the most remote corners of the country during the pre-congress period is connected with adapting to the reality that has taken shape. However, a few fragments from sessions of the DP assembly showed that the crowds that once helped Berisha triumph may now become a liability for him. Indeed, the democratic leader has openly campaigned to create a free atmosphere and a spirit of agreement within the DP, while being threatened precisely by crowds of fanatical followers who are ready to send anyone to the guillotine in the name of “... and the doctor.” The way the hall reacted yesterday to Tritan Shehu brings to mind the cries of “traitors to the gallows” from the years of the communist dictatorship. But what was most striking about such scenes was that Berisha was no longer able to control them. Undoubtedly, unable to ... he is fully aware that he must support ...
