Berisha, the Trojan horse in the PD
Ferdinand Xhaferi, one of the exponents of the reformist movement, accuses:
“He served as a guarantor that the PPSH communists would escape”
Ruçi is Ruçi
By GAVROSH LEVONJA
29/yesterday/da Gramoz Ruçi in the post of Secretary General is interpreted by the media and by political opponents as a new and key popularity for Chairman Nano and the shape of the latter’s position. In a way, that is true. Previously, the departure of Sabit Brokaj from the leadership of the governing council of the last, as would certainly not have matched the uphill path he had gone through. Since the PD’s desire to achieve the mobilization of Gramoz Ruçi is not new. The same scenario is being revived on the other side of the front and if it returns permanently in all cases. For example, the removal of Fatos Nano and the expulsion of Kastriot Islami, even before the arrival of Fatos Nano as chairman of the PPSH, are more than strange rumors and more of another process with a stable history. His passage of this force into the trend dictated by the minds of politics and morality that Albanian society has had for decades from earlier years is evident. For those who are still anti-Ruçi, shall we ask them? The tradition of the past has returned as an answer that no one can avoid. In any case, the final question remains the same: what does Ruçi represent today, what has he preserved from his troubles, and what has he not been able to let go? How dangerous is Ruçi with the power that stands behind him, and how much does Nano lose by having him close? Unlike the government of 1997, by taking firm control of the country’s governance and of the entire administration, the PS today has an easier time achieving its own goals. But the aims it had earlier go beyond that and make it necessary for the Socialist Party to closely follow what is happening with Gramoz Ruçi at the door of the strongly ideological and psychological moment. Nano, what pushed them from the beginning of July? The time has come to ask themselves the uphill questions; it has brought about the intoxication of tradition. Before he shook the government in a demonstrative way, it must be considered that by sacrificing himself at least once for reform, he comes into an unfavorable position for the whole. Returning to government and to the party has made the whole thing seem staged. Not only the Socialists know this well; even today Ruçi has a name at moments when he cannot be understood in one voice. But more than anyone else, and inevitably, today’s challenge is first of all the challenge of the party itself. If the Socialists want the world to be prepared in favor of changes in the country, they must prepare the name and the credible moment of an electoral force.
