They are the thieves who shout “catch the thief”
Nano, Ruçi, Pellumbi, Dokle, Brokaj, Zeqo etc. are deeply implicated in one way or another with the distant and recent past
The extremist leaders of the PS have declared their seventh campaign. Indeed, as they themselves say, they have all the time been in campaign. They have been in the campaign of destabilization, of obstructing at any cost reforms, of trying to block Albania’s integration process into Euro-Atlantic structures. They have been and remain in campaigns to defend crime, both collective and individual, in campaigns to defend genocide. In fact, more than any special feature, this seventh campaign rests precisely on the uprooting and main goal of defending genocide.
The PS’s seventh electoral campaign is a fierce reaction, characterized by attempts at illegal ultimatums, by desperate declarations to “raise the people to their feet,” by unconstitutional declarations such as “we do not recognize the law... Ruçi and Co. will be MPs, etc.”
The desperate cries aimed at destabilization and confrontation are the cries of the criminals of yesterday and today, who lose the “right” to wear masks, deceive and choose.
It is not the first time that such minds, filled with the nightmares of their sins, have brought to Albania the strategy of evil, that of chaos and anarchy, of confrontation and violence. Such cries have repeatedly been silenced. They remind us of those about “crushing skulls and dragging people through the streets,” about “Saint Bartholomew’s nights,” about “mass organized movements,” about “forcing Americans out,” and most recently, about “raising the people up” against the law on genocide, inspired by distinguished intellectuals, demanded by an entire persecuted people, and approved by the lawful parliament.
They are the former security agents of yesterday, the former senior officials of the PPSH, former professors of the class struggle, ministers and Alisë, offspring of the dictatorship, who today, to the misfortune of the PS and the country, have inherited and usurped the leadership of the Socialist Party. They are the ones who have reactivated the black pens of the 50-year-old criminal leaflet ZP, who have summoned the detachments of the former state security, the criminals who killed with “trial” and without trial, those who blackened, impoverished, isolated and bled Albania for half a century, those who burned and destroyed the country in '91. They are the ones who today seek to return, to have power, to rule, and thus to overturn the democratic developments of an entire people. From them comes the plunderers’ first charter: “the years of PD and Berisha rule will enter the history of the transition as the years of darkness” and even “ZP, editorial of 13.10.95). From them come the calls for illegal rallies (for example, Kombinat, Tirana). They are the ones promoting changes to the laws, the release of ordinary criminals. Their hands are the ones turning out tracts against the US and NATO. They are the thieves who shout “catch the thief”. In its editorial, the Sunday RZP openly confirms the defense being made of genocide. And it could not be otherwise. Nano, Ruçi, Pellumbi, Dokle, Brokaj, Zeqo etc. are deeply implicated in one way or another with the distant and recent past. The messages from Shkodra, from the United Schools, the trips to the border, the burning and looting of the country, the persecution of intellectuals, the scenarios of aid to fill pockets, the alternatives of Marxism — all these alternatives were the spies of the time of turmoil and turmoil, and today they are against the leaders of the PS. These and others are what incriminate the PS and not the government. These professors and only practitioners know very well how to “hunt along trails” and not the government. These are the ones who openly defend the criminal Shefqet Peçi in ZP, that one of the main architects of genocide, Ahmet Ligi, is the one who only restrains them from choosing to lead. The challenge of the road must be answered by justice and law. Those who have carried out genocide against this people must answer. It is time to establish justice trampled for half a century.

Another failure
“Nano should be treated like all other citizens under the new Penal Code”
Statement by PD deputy chairman Mr. Ali Spahia and deputy editor-in-chief Edi Paloka
Question: Mr. Spahia, you were present at the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Bucharest. The opposition press wrote that the Nano case would be the “main issue” in Bucharest and that a harsh reaction from the Union was expected. What exactly was said in Bucharest about former Prime Minister Nano?
Answer: Regarding the Nano case, the Human Rights Commission and the parliaments had prepared a report in which about 125 parliamentarians from 25 different countries were mentioned. Among these 125 cases was also the case of former Prime Minister Nano, from Albania. On this issue, a resolution was approved which mainly contained one request: that the case of former Prime Minister Nano, his process, be reviewed once again, on the basis of the new criminal procedure codes.
In other words, it is the position we have also expressed repeatedly, that the case of former Prime Minister Nano be reconsidered on the basis of the new Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure, just like any other citizen of the Republic of Albania who makes such a request.

Berisha among the Arbëresh of Calabria
It was the first time that the President of the Republic, Sali Berisha, went to Calabria to meet the Arbëresh community. Yesterday, the Arbëresh came out to welcome President Berisha at Catanzaro airport. In the evening, the Calabria industrialists’ association hosted a dinner attended by prominent figures from Calabria.
On Sunday morning, at the prefecture of Cosenza, President Berisha was received by Prefect Gueriero and met with 23 mayors of Arbëresh municipalities in Calabria. Their dean, Vinçenso Mini, who visited the President of Albania in Calabria, considered this very important for the Arbëresh people, as it will serve as an encouragement for the affirmation of Albanians on the Adriatic side.
At the University of Calabria, where President Berisha, accompanied by the Italian Minister of Telecommunications, Gambino, the Arbëresh rector of the university, Xhuzepe Frogo, as well as other senior figures, held a meeting with the students of this university, among them Albanian students, Minister Gambino valued this cultural exchange and the education of young Albanian students as one of the fruitful forms of cooperation between Italy and Albania.
For his part, President Berisha especially praised the university’s Albanian-language chair for preserving and enriching the Albanian language, as one of the most essential traits of the Albanian nation. He stressed that its strengthening also depends on the arrival of Arbëresh students in Albanian universities. He congratulated those present for their efforts toward bilateral cooperation, to preserve and develop the cherished values of a nation, its language and virtues, making them above all worthy citizens of Italy and an important factor in the friendship between Italy and Albania.
At lunch, in the municipality of San Demetrio, inhabited almost entirely by Arbëresh, a ceremony of honor was organized for President Berisha, where the municipal residents, represented by the mayor Xhuzepe Lango, declared President Berisha “Honorary Citizen of San Demetrio”.
President Berisha expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of the Arbëresh of San Demetrio and all of Calabria. He praised the high values of this people, who preserved their excellent centuries-old customs and wonderful Albanian traditions. We are a people who have survived in an excellent way and I am certain that we have an excellent future, Berisha said. You are an enduring totem, always an important factor in the friendship between Italy and Albania.
Later, President Berisha paid his deepest respects in Macchia to one of the brightest and most distinguished figures of our national renaissance, Jeronim De Rada. After laying a wreath, he observed a minute of silence in front of De Rada’s grave and the church of Macchia Albanese.
President Berisha expressed his satisfaction that this year’s birthday he would remember through the visit to the House of the De Rada League and the congratulations of the Arbëresh on his birthday.
On Sunday afternoon, President Berisha, accompanied by the distinguished Skanderbeg in Castelsilano, in the presence of hundreds of local residents and visitors. In gratitude for this recognition that Castelsilano gave to the Albanian people and to its bond, President Berisha also took part in the meeting at the Valentini theater in Cosenza.
There, too, the mayor, senator Loreta, the president of the area of Puglia and the representatives of the Xhovanelli association, on behalf of the people of Castelsilano, awarded President Berisha the prize “Lucera 1993” as a figure. President Berisha called this one of the greatest honors for the Albanian people. We recall that after Mother Teresa, Berisha is the second Albanian to receive this award as recognition of his contribution to the spread of democracy. With his departure from Castelsilano, President Berisha concluded his visit to Calabria and to Italy, and on Sunday evening arrived at Rinas airport, where he was received by Prime Minister Mr. Aleksander Meksi.
“Rallies” - Polls of PS failure
EDI PALOKA
The PS leaders themselves hurried to make public the bluff of the so-called electoral polls that showed the PS as the winner. Their news from the districts or, as the mythomanic leaders called them, the PS “rallies,” exposed precisely the bluff of the red barometer. Pellumbi, Ruçi, Dokle etc. were forced to face reality. Half-empty halls in which the PS leaders gathered around themselves only a handful of nostalgics (whom Dokle delicately called “veterans”) and security informers were the most accurate indicator, the most telling poll of how dear the figures who now lead the PS are to Albanians. But that was not all; the “victims” of the anti-genocide law had to face the victims of genocide, of whom they are representatives and authors.
Let us not forget Rozhina, where Pellumbi, defender of Marx and of genocide, was put on the spot because the majority of the energy had gone to his meeting. It was not only one mother who trembled at the killing of her son and cried “Down with the criminals,” but it was an entire crowd which, hearing the speeches of the PS No. 1, rose in protest. Not without reason they shouted “Down with communism”; in front of them stood a man who, three years ago, was against communism, continued to defend genocide and to preach Marxism, a man who in the name of that Marxism years earlier had ordered the arrest of a student killed in the lecture hall, a man on whom we remind people that the head of the internal branch fell that zone.
But this does not happen only with the deputy chairman of the PS but also with its secretary general, the former interior minister of the dictatorship, Gramoz Ruçi. How many more times can wounds be reopened at the sight of Ruçi’s face? How many mothers can cry out for their sons killed at the border or on the streets of Albanian cities when Ruçi was directing the so-called “dark forces”? “ZP” may continue to be painted in bright colors by “SHIK agents,” but that does not cover up the failure of the PS leaders.
Pellumbi, Ruçi and Dokle and their comrades were watched very closely in order to understand that Albanians no longer want to hear the name of socialism. They crisscrossed Albania, deceiving and promising paradise, but the answer they received showed only one thing: their failure.
The hand and the pedagogy of what they preach. Perhaps they expected to find in the crowds proof of the 50-year socialism built on Marx’s principles, to hear applause again for the preachers of those principles. Perhaps they also expected that those people who experienced prisons, internments and executions would embrace Ruçi while he zealously defended genocide, but that is an even more absurd madness. No, they know that Albanians cannot applaud either Marxism or genocide, but they also know that their seats in the PS are tied both to Marxism and to genocide, and so they are forced even today to defend their seats. If Pellumbi removes Marxism from the PS program, then Ruçi and others should leave their seats, as should the others. That is why they wrote toward failure and received only failure, despite the fact that “ZP” perhaps marked every failed meeting in large letters: “Victory of the PS.”
What will they discuss today at the meeting of the leadership and the campaign штаб of the PS’s seventh campaign? Or will they begin to blame SHIK and the police? Will Meta perhaps declare this time that the world does not accept them, but the Albanian people do? Of course they will not come out and tell their members, “We failed, now replace us,” because for those seats they will do anything. For those seats, the PS leaders will not understand that they are holding the last congress because of those seats, declaring that even if they hold a congress they will not hold elections. Is there anyone who does not understand this? They hope to remain at the head of the PS for another four years by keeping Marx and Enver seated in the leadership chairs, so not only now but even after another 4 years they will know only failure.
A new military agreement between Albania and the USA
An agreement concerning military information was signed yesterday at the Pentagon by the American Secretary of Defense, William Perry, and the Albanian Minister of Defense, Safet Zhulali, after a ceremony honoring the two Albanian delegations.
The American Secretary of Defense highly գնահատed the military cooperation between the two countries. This agreement, newly signed, Mr. Perry stressed, represents an important step in our efforts to deepen security relations between the United States of America and Albania. This agreement will make it possible for the two governments to exchange sensitive information, including secret military data.
He went on to say that the agreement underpins the bilateral military relationship and closer cooperation between the two countries. We, he said, will help Albania continue modernizing its armed forces. The United States and Albania have become partners in a joint commitment to peace in the Balkans region and throughout Europe, Mr. Perry noted, adding that the friendship between the two countries will also affect regional stability.
For his part, Minister Zhulali thanked his counterpart for the reception and stressed that the USA is a priority for Albania in the political, economic and military fields. Zhulali expressed his high appreciation for the extraordinary role that military cooperation with the USA has played in the restructuring of the Albanian army and in ensuring its security.
The General Security of Military Information Agreement was considered by both sides as a further consolidation of the cooperation between the two countries.
After the signing of the agreement, the American military attaché in Albania, Steven Bucci, was presented with a decoration by the American Secretary of Defense, Perry, for his contribution to cooperation between the Albanian and American armies. The Albanian Minister of Defense, Safet Zhulali, presented the Order of Naim Frashëri, First Class, with which the President of Albania, Sali Berisha, decorates Colonel Steven Bucci for his extraordinary contribution to the restructuring and modernization of the Albanian army. Handing the decoration to Colonel Bucci, Minister Zhulali said that Colonel Bucci, for the same military... Colonel Bucci thanked Secretary of Defense Perry for his contribution to military cooperation and support for Albania. After a reception at his home it was also and hope in his help it would not have been possible to do the great work that was done.

F2 Interview with Mr. Muhamet Omari, lawyer attached to the presidency of the National Forum of Albanian Intellectuals for the condemnation of communist genocide
— Let me mention a name, N. Dokle, and just one episode from his political honesty... Lately in Parliament, speaking about the source of the state’s economic income in a democratic state, Comrade Dokle does not seem to realize that today’s state is being sustained by the sweat and blood of refugees. But could there be a greater absurdity, a greater hypocrisy than this, burdened as he is with all the misdeeds he has inflicted on the Albanian people, that he should mention refugees, he who in the idiotic rally of July '90 stood alongside Xh. Gjoni, S. Gjushi, K. Blushi and other sunburned faces, blackened faces? At that shameful rally, the hungry sons and daughters of the people, who dealt the hardest blow to the stooping communist caste, were ordered to use the most vulgar and humiliating words and the harshest epithets. From Dokle and his comrades...
