Nano, you have no place in the USA
Prime Minister Nano admits his ties with crime committees. Albert Shyti on the blacklist to be ambassador in Brussels
Prime Minister Fatos Nano states today in the “Herald Tribun” that the USA is preventing him from putting Albania on the right path, but the American administration has informed the State Department that Fatos Nano is unwelcome with this cabinet, a gang paid through the alliance with Keko, and that Bill Clinton’s administration excluded Fatos Nano before he became prime minister and came to power. Likewise, our ambassador to NATO, Albert Shyti, will be replaced. The reason for this is the fact that Nano, despite declarations that he will restore order, is favoring the revival of criminal groups. The senators on the Foreign Affairs Committee have decided that Albanian representatives in Western embassies must undergo a thorough screening.

Shyti on the blacklist to be ambassador in Brussels
Prime Minister Fatos Nano today in “Herald TRIBUNE” accuses the USA of preventing Albania from finding the right path toward democracy.
But what do the Americans actually say about the Nano government? “RD” has learned that the State Department has classified Nano’s government “as a government moving in the opposite direction from democracy. In this context it has described Fatos Nano as a non-grata person for the American administration.”
It is understood that all the activity undertaken so far by the Nano government for the “stabilization of the country” has been viewed with great suspicion by American diplomacy. This is because of the ties it is establishing with the southern committees. Thus, several appointments in this government have been judged by high-ranking American diplomatic circles as a clear rapprochement with people who served the communist dictatorship.
Regarding this, “RD” has learned that his appointment as Minister of Defense has been received with reserve by American diplomatic circles, and strong concern has also been expressed that important posts in this government are occupied by persons implicated in crime or linked to crime.
With the nomination of citizen Albert Shyti as candidate for ambassador in Brussels, American diplomacy has called this appointment a provocation. Shyti has been considered a person close to left-wing political structures, but also to dubious circles that played a role in the violent scenes of recent months. For this reason, according to diplomatic sources, his name has been placed on a list of undesirable names for representative posts in Western countries.
In diplomatic circles it has also been said that Nano, through his public statements, is trying to blame the USA for his government’s failures. This has been regarded as a tactic to avoid responsibility for the lack of order and for the worsening security situation in the country.
According to “RD” sources, the American administration has made it clear that any future cooperation with the Albanian government will depend on the removal of compromised persons and on severing ties with the armed groups operating in the south of the country.
