On Thursday, a big rally of the “Union for Democracy” in “Skënderbej” Square “The Union for Democracy” is continuing to distribute calls and notices announcing the decision to take part in Thursday’s demonstration, which will be held in “Skënderbej” Square, starting at 18:00. In Tirana, which is being poisoned by a criminalized and scandal-ridden government, slogans are being written and distributed throughout Tirana’s streets. These banners and slogans are written against Fatos Nano’s criminal clique, against his government, which has caused nothing but misery and suffering. They are written against the political and judicial process against the opposition, against violence and terror against the independent press and, of course, against the rule of Fatos Nano’s governing clique. This morning finds Tirana and its citizens covered with posters and banners displayed almost on every corner. “Everyone to Thursday’s demonstration in ‘Skënderbej’ Square,” “Down with Fatos Nano’s government,” “The government of crime and gangs must go,” “Jail for the criminal government,” “Freedom and rights for the opposition and the independent press,” “Down with political trials,” “Down with the governmental terror of crime and revenge,” etc. These are some of the slogans and calls that can be read on the banners and posters distributed in large numbers in Tirana. Meanwhile, Fatos Nano continues intensifying the hysteria and inhuman terrorization against the opposition. It is learned that even yesterday leaflets and notices were distributed in the name of the police and the prosecutor’s office, accusing the protesters of being vandals and coup plotters and those taking part in the rally of being people who will commit criminal acts. This is another expression of the panic that has gripped the government due to the growing popular anger. This panic is also visible in the measures taken by police structures, which, according to government orders, are using brutal methods of control and surveillance against people, taking notes and preparing lists of citizens who openly express dissatisfaction with the government. Likewise, the police have increased violence and arbitrariness in the streets. The citizens of Tirana are giving daily proof of their determination to take part in Thursday’s big rally. In this way they answer the government provocation, which, through threats and fear, is trying to prevent citizens from taking part in the protest.
