Chairman of the PD Youth Forum arrested
Genci Strazimiri, a member of the PD leadership, is held in a cell for 8 days and nights
An accusation related to 12 days of fighting in Northern Albania has been fabricated against the Chairman of the Youth Forum of the Democratic Party, Genci Strazimiri.
After detaining him yesterday afternoon, the police informed him of the charge of “insulting institutions, authority and the region,” a charge that was completely unknown to Strazimiri, and transferred him overnight to the cells in Tirana.

The whole of December or the end of the communists
The whole of December or
the end of the communists
Today Albanians remember with respect 8 December 1990, which opened the doors of freedom in communist Albania. But after 8 years of Albanian pluralism, Albanians still feel just as insecure as before the fall of the old totalitarian system.
After 8 years, Albanians continue to be threatened by power, crime, poverty and injustice. The Socialist government, born out of the manipulated elections of June 1997, established a new system in Albania, similar to the one overthrown by the December students.
In the last four months after the assassination of Deputy Azem Hajdari, Albania has been engulfed in a wave of political repression, with arrests, violence and violations of the rights of the opposition and the free press. Instead of the rule of law, the country is being run by political police and armed groups.
The current government is trying to extinguish the spirit of December with violence, but civic and student resistance is rising again. The memory of 8 December remains a call for freedom, democracy and the overthrow of the communist comeback.

The new facts brought to light by the Democratic Party directly implicate the government in concealing the crime and protecting the attackers.
