Formerly persecuted people, defenders of democratic values

Berisha meets with the hunger strikers Formerly persecuted people, defenders of the values of democracy On Saturday morning, the chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a meeting with the former politically persecuted people who are on hunger strike, with the participation of members of the democratic parliamentary group as well. After learning about the strikers’ serious health condition, Mr. Berisha said that all of Albania has shown solidarity with their cause. At the meeting with the strikers, Mr. Berisha said: “We are coming here in the name of all Albanian citizens, hundreds and hundreds and thousands of whom come and support you. Albania is with you. Your cause is a just cause.” Mr. Berisha added that those who made possible Albania’s return to the communist hell must leave and answer for what they have done. “All Albanian public opinion is expressing its conscience. All citizens are expressing, with great anger, their hatred toward this government. Let us unite as true Albanians against it. Let us vote against it,” he further said.

Nano incites political killings

Reaction from the Democratic Party spokesperson At a press conference, the PD spokesperson, Bue Viktor Gumi, announced yesterday that Prime Minister Nano, through his insistence on striking the opposition in various ways, using the state apparatus and the tools of criminal gangs, is inciting political killings. Referring to the political killing of the Shkodër student Arben Broci, the PD spokesperson said that the 4 million USD paid by the Nano government for the PRS Convention and the 7.4 million on 2 January paid to the independent union were rewards for criminals, murderers, and terrorists who, in the name of the mafia-like political mission of the government, are acting against the opposition. As Mr. Gumi noted, a police station chief in Shijak also ordered yesterday that no vehicle move in defense of the building where the hunger strikers are staying. Meanwhile, added Mr. Gumi, criminal gangs put at the service of the socialist government have orders to withdraw the security forces in order to strike the opposition protesters. “Moreover, a burst of gunfire was directed yesterday at the hunger strikers by the chairman of the Shijak Socialist Party.” Viktor Gumi once again denounced the socialist government as an anti-national, anti-democratic, illegal government that continues, through political, economic and administrative means, to artificially hold on to power through deception, violence and blood.

Shtej is frightened by the PD protests

Mazi: The television managers or hounds are acting on orders The former mayor of Tirana, Albert Brojka, accused Chief Prosecutor Arben Rakipi yesterday of using, through an unprecedented administrative act, all the gangs of Tirana against the deputies of the Democratic Party and the hunger strikers. Mazi said that yesterday’s decision of the Tirana District Prosecutor’s Office to change the location of the opposition protest in front of the parliament offices, and the order given to the police not to be present, are unconstitutional and punishable. “This was done in order for the opposition protesters to become targets of attacks by socialist gangs.” Mazi stressed that this decision follows the unprecedented administrative orders issued by the District Prosecutor’s Office for the release from prison of the perpetrators of political murders, who are being killed today in the name of banditry and state crime. Finally, he said that the government of Fatos Nano is using that unconstitutional and illegal method. In his view, Chief Prosecutor Arben Rakipi should resign over these accusations. “This situation cannot continue any longer. How much longer will this police terror and that of the socialist gangs go on?”

Gjinushi treacherously attacks the Constitutional Court

The chairman of the parliament of the Kalashnikovs heralds the official victory Latest news There are at least 4 victims from Friday, killed and injured. 1 killed and 3 injured are the result of a day of fierce war between the socialist government and the opposition parties. As can be seen, everything is happening as in the old days, when the Albanian prime minister sends Fatos’s police into the streets against his political opponents. Faced with these scenes, no one can remain silent, and perhaps not even the Constitutional Court, with its latest act. The latest act is yesterday’s decision by which the Constitutional Court recognized the mandate of Socialist deputy Namik Dokle as legal, declaring him the winner of the parliamentary race and not Fatos Klosi. This has caused political tension to rise even further and the clash between the political camps to intensify. This is considered a severe blow to the opposition and an open favor to the governing majority. Gjinushi, with his positions in parliament, has shown that he accepts no institutional limits and that he is ready to use any means to consolidate political control over the institutions. It is further emphasized that yesterday’s clashes highlighted the serious state of public order and democracy in the country. The opposition has warned that protests will continue and that the confrontation with the government will intensify.
