Gramoz Ruci was in Vlora yesterday to excuse the unacceptable absence of Nano, Gjinushi and Meidani, who have also lost the moral right to celebrate the independence of the rebellious southern regions and the armed rebellion. If they do not dare go even where they might find more supporters than anywhere else, since the leaders of the gangs’ committees are also on their way, this means that today’s rulers are discredited throughout Albania—not only where there are anti-communists, but everywhere socialists gather. The nightmares of crime that plunged the country into bloodshed and destruction can no longer look the citizens of Vlora, Tepelenë, Sarandë, Gjirokastër, Delvinë, etc. in the eye; more than anyone else, they have seen through the so-called dossier of the events of March last year. The absence of senior government officials in Vlora yesterday matters far more than the reasons, or the excuses, about which the Ngjela commission’s correspondent reported.
