The macabre is absent from the commemoration of the uprising
None of the authors of this column is close to yesterday's, but before the eyes of Albanians and foreigners the voices of the enemy were revived. This happened in the city with the greatest shortage of burials for people killed by gangs, where the city's residents burst into tears when they remember their massacred and murdered relatives. Yesterday, in front of the crowds and the TV cameras, some criminal gangs staged a show of force for the second time. Such a demonstration, carefully prepared by those who started the communist rebellion with an unextinguished hatred for democracy, accompanied by automatic gunfire, once again showed their effort to challenge order. The clear voice of the rebellion was absent from this commemoration, because those who raised the uprising had not the slightest courage to appear before the victims' families. After ordinary people understood what that movement had brought, the protagonists settled for weapons, fireworks and empty speeches. Those present recalled that the armed uprising was the cause of the country's ruin, the destruction of institutions and the disappearance of hope. For this reason the ceremony turned into a show of force rather than an act of civic remembrance.

Other sources claim that the government still has no clear position on how depositors and those responsible for the bankruptcy will be treated. In financial circles many rumors are circulating, but so far there is no official decision.
