Majko's last effort

By Ferdinand Xhaferri At the moment, two things are trying to keep afloat Majko's battered government. These are the two parties, the hawks, and the political establishment. However, the actors are leaving the scene day by day. The first has left the stage, the second is shrinking rapidly. Hopes for the survival of an establishment are now pinned on the party in power. But even these few hopes are fading more and more each day. Some party members will leave the government as soon as possible, a government that will begin to sink under the weight of the need to answer for the catastrophic consequences. No matter how much we have denounced the government as a government of corruption, the responsibilities are far greater. Mr. Majko's government is a government of desolation and destruction for Albania. This government is ending its mandate with terrible consequences for the Albanian economy. Agricultural production is falling rapidly, exports have been minimized, the standard of living is falling at an unstoppable rate, unemployment is rising. Investments have disappeared, robberies and organized crime have become the most serious threat to citizens' lives. All this has come as a result of governance without vision and without responsibility. The economic crisis, the breakdown of public order, the lack of perspective, the abuse of power, and the inability to guarantee the minimum functioning of the state have produced a harsh social climate. The Albanian people are paying every day for the bill of this misgovernment. The worst thing is that even now, at the end of the mandate, the government shows no sign of reflection. On the contrary, it continues to use propaganda and deception as its only tools. Therefore today it is time to say clearly that the country needs change. Albania cannot move forward with a government that has lost the trust of its citizens. The Democratic Party and the opposition must offer a credible alternative, grounded in law, the market, and freedom.
