Tributes to Azem on August 12

Announcement by the Democratic Party The Democratic Party of Albania informs all its members and supporters that on August 12, 1999, on the 11th monthiversary of the murder of the hero of democracy and tribune of Albanian nationalism, Azem Hajdari, it is organizing tributes in memory of His life and work. The tributes will begin at 19:00 on August 12, with flowers and candles in all the main squares of Albania. They will be not only a prayer for the life of our legendary hero, but also a strong protest against today’s criminal state, which has still not begun investigations to find his murderers and which still pays his murderers.

The government protects Azem Hajdari’s killers

Today, 330 days since the murder of the December Leader Each day that passes since the murder of Azem Hajdari, symbol of democracy and pluralism, proves the complicity of Fatos Nano’s government and its successor in the crime that shook the entire Albanian world. The governments of the former communists, who are free and have not brought to justice the criminals who took the December Leader’s life, show Albanians that they have been and remain on the side of the murderers, who have names and identities but are untouched by those in power. Democrats and all Albanians who loved and honored Azem Hajdari can under no circumstances tolerate this fact. The government must either arrest the criminals and bring them to justice, or publicly declare that it itself committed the murder of Azem Hajdari. Portrait of Azem Hajdari
