In recent days, the government allocated a budget for paving roads in Tirana, Durrës, Berat and some other city. The budget was announced on the very day the OSCE consultations on the electoral code concluded, and exactly six months before the planned local elections. The money will be managed by the government, while no more than an average of 400,000 lek has been allocated to local government for each municipality or commune in Albania. The Municipality of Tirana, the largest in the country, with around 800,000 residents, has received a budget equal to the budget used by the Prime Minister’s building for repairs, offices, fuel and the salaries of around 100 people. on page 5
