Representatives of the Ministry of the Interior claim that the country’s police force is being used directly in the election campaign. The opposition gives specific examples where senior government officials have approached state administration and public education leaders with pressure or inducements, in order to bring them into service of a party campaign. For several days now, the press has been trying to soften a development that seems unavoidable. Voices from the international community, seriously concerned by the worsening situation in the country and the threat of blocking the Kosovo talks, insist on solving the opposition at all costs on page 12
