Meta acknowledges involvement in the Treasury robbery

The Deputy Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Jozefina Topalli, on 03.05.2000 requested an interpellation with Prime Minister Ilir Meta concerning the Treasury robbery.
By order of Skënder Gjinushi, Topalli’s request was rejected, and it was presented to Parliament only as a question session together with other MPs from the majority. This is a deliberate act by Gjinushi, who is seeking in this way to downplay the issue and deprive the opposition of the opportunity to speak during the parliamentary session about such an important matter as the Treasury robbery, for which several of the country’s highest-ranking officials are directly accused.
