The Democratic deputy, Fatmir Mediu, has accused the Minister of Portfolio, Arben Imami, of misuse of the state administration and family members in the privatization process of Hotel “Albania”. “The reason for this privatization is to fill the pockets of the government bosses dressed in suit and tie,” says Mediu. “Albania” is a key case for opponents of the transition and the corrupt socialist power. “Triple defendant,” he said, referring to the privatization, construction and sale. “If ‘Albania’ is privatized in this way, this is a giant undertaking for the mafia group led by the government headed by Mr. Spaholli. This group also includes two puppets, as Mr. Meksi declared, who signed the papers for this procedure. The job is being done in such a way that the premises of Hotel ‘Albania’ are taken over by the ‘triple defendant’ minister and his uncles. These two government scenarios for the killing of Azem Hajdari are pernicious and criminal. One aims to close the case of this killing by folding it into the file of other killings, clearly ordered by the Prime Minister, who knew about and inspired these acts. The other seeks to hide the real names of the masterminds, replacing them with ordinary criminals, in order to further obscure the role of senior government officials. The people have now understood who stands behind this murder, but the government and its institutions, with their corrupt prosecutors, continue to play the role of advocates for crime.
