Braho: We’ll release it today The story The leader of the LSI, Ilir Meta, asked yesterday, just two days after the Supreme Court’s decision that found him innocent of corruption charges, for a video to be broadcast on the program “Fiks fare”, which, according to him, implicates the leader of the PS, Edi Rama. TIRANA ARBEN ROZHAJNI The leader of the LSI, Ilir Meta, in a public appearance for the media, guaranteed that there is a video implicating the leader of the PS, Edi Rama. Just two days after the Supreme Court decided to acquit him of corruption charges, Mr. Meta, speaking to journalists, asked the director of the program “Fiks Fare”, Filip Çakuli, to give him only two minutes of airtime on the show to publish a video which, according to him, dispels the “worry” that the PS leader Rama has about pressure on the justice system. “If Edi really wants transparency and if Edi really wants to confront all Albanians, all internationals, regarding what he calls the death of justice, what he calls pressure on the courts, prosecutors, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Intelligence Service, etc., I invite him, starting today and whenever he wishes, on the program ‘Fiks Fare’, to... continues on page 2

An incident at the private university “Vitrinat” brings to light and to the attention of public opinion what really happens in some private realities of knowledge in Albania. After an apparently trivial clash between a student and the university’s bodyguard, later involving the police as well, many things are learned that point to: 1- The presence of bodyguards at a university, who, according to students’ testimonies, are used to pressure young people into making various payments. 2- A high level of aggressiveness, not only from the bodyguard, but also from the teaching staff, who instead of finding the strength to calm the conflict and restore balance, get involved in disputes with the police and the students. 3- In its press release, the university describes its own students as “thugs” and the police action as defending the “thugs”. These are all things to be verified, but so far it appears that the signs of violence are on the students’ side and not on the bodyguard’s or the teaching staff’s. 4- Two other students have denounced the violence of this university’s bodyguards and the pressure to buy expensive books. The students also made recordings, which they handed over on CD as evidence to the police. In fact, the official statement of the Tirana police notes: “As material evidence, CD materials were seized, in which the illegal actions of these citizens are shown in recordings. Articles 236/2 and 90 and 25 of the Criminal Code.” Another problem arises here. Will the recordings made by the students be accepted as evidence by Albanian justice? In the video the young people made, would those bodyguards be clearly identifiable? Would the persons and the filmed violence be taken into account by Albanian justice, or would they be considered manipulated CDs, as if the bodyguards in the footage were actors and everything else were interpretation, editing, fabrication. Total confusion in the Albanian movement.
