Renzo Bossi, the son of the former leader of “Lega Nord”, Umberto Bossi, graduated in Albania. Documents found by the prosecutors in Naples and Milan and published in the Italian media show that in September 2010 Renzo Bossi received a degree in Business Management, stamped by the private “Kristal” University in Tirana, although according to the Italians he had barely finished high school in 2009.

Comment BY PREÇ ZOGAJ The presidential election, a race invented to exist Last night in France the candidates in the second round, Sarkozy and Hollande, faced off for about two and a half hours in the major televised debate on the eve of Sunday’s vote. Debates like this are a celebration of democracy. The candidates are “stripped bare” before the public by their own hands and those of each other. Voters know that the battle is to win their hearts and minds. This makes them feel sovereign and better able to judge who should represent them. Albania is deprived of this miracle. Albania elects its president without a race, without presidential elections. The current reasons are two: the limits of the system and the limits of custom. Here, the President is elected by Parliament. The number one chance for candidates to be elected is to be appointed in agreement with Berisha and Rama, that is, to campaign for two people. It is understood that this cannot be a campaign, but a difficult conversation, a conversation in a one-way street. With the terms the candidate will use to settle matters with Rama, he may spoil things with Berisha and vice versa. The latter always has one condition—the dismissal of the Prosecutor General, for example—which from the outset calls into question the continuity and dignity of the presidential candidate. In these circumstances the candidate does not compete; rivals do not exist in this scheme—he merely adapts and bends, now to one side now to the other, drifting away from himself.
