Commentary Comment BY Preç Zogaj Repentance after death Why is there some kind of repentance, some kind of pang of conscience among the vast number of people, as if we had all given a hand to the bus of the unfortunate Pellumb Qela? Why this lump in the throat, this general bitterness and these tears that swell right up to faces we thought would never be wet again? They were so young, so beautiful and so unprotected, the students who died in the abyss. From their far too early farewell, from their final farewell without having risen into this life, the wounded face of deep Albania was revealed, that suffering Albania which does not give in. All this hurts deeply, but is it not a reason, my dear, to blame them, or to explain this feeling of guilt that has seized many people? What is the reason then? It is hard to detect, hard to say. There is always something deep and inexplicable in human repentance for tragic losses of life. Everyone can say something of their own about this very special and very ethereal experience of shared guilt.
