Commentary BY PREÇ ZOGAJ Albanians want to unite I believe this centenary of Independence will be remembered as a kind of plebiscite by Albanians to express their strong desire to unite under one national flag and one single state. This unification under the red and black flag is a valuable fact, and this time it was expressed only through an unprecedented inclusiveness in conditions of freedom. This unification in a single state was not spoken and could not be spoken in written words, but was clearly expressed through the language of gestures, which is the supreme political language of the sovereign people. Whoever was in Vlorë on the 100th anniversary of Independence saw in the fivefold population of that city the projection of the unification of Albanians from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and the other regions where they have lived since time immemorial.
