Comment BY ADRI NURELLARI Opposition out of spite toward the mother-in-law The program recently presented by the Socialist Party and the party’s recent rhetoric have focused on opposing liberalism and nationalism, on the assumption that this way they harm the government and win public support. This is a paradoxical situation because the application of these two ideologies in our country leaves much to be desired, and despite the claims, the Albanian state is not concerned with liberalism or patriotism. Unfortunately, the attack on these two ideologies, out of spite because the prime minister is said to claim them, gives the impression of the old saying, “Out of spite toward the mother-in-law, she sleeps with the miller.” This kind of rejecting, almost nihilistic reaction to everything associated with the government stems from the great emotional charge with which politics is conducted in Albania...
