It is clear to everyone that the issue of Albania’s integration into the EU is a challenge for politics that belongs neither to the right nor to the left. Integration is declared with euphoria by both sides, but although the EU door is open, this process can easily be hindered by those in power if they lose the benefits provided by the current fog, and they do not really have any interest in Euro-Atlantic integration. It cannot be denied that for this reason, the people from 2009 to 2012 missed the chance of integration several times, remaining behind Serbia and Montenegro, as candidate countries in the European Union.
