Comment BY Genci Kojdheli Nobody asks judges about their salary Last week, Justice Minister Eduard Halimi published a government initiative regarding the reform of the justice system, which among other things proposed raising the age of judges as a way to reduce corruption in the courts. The proposal for such an important sector of a state was somewhat left in silence because, as usually happens, public and media commentators' attention focused on more bombastic matters. Nevertheless, the Minister's proposal deserves to be discussed in detail, especially because it comes very little time before the general parliamentary elections. First of all, it should be stressed that corruption in justice is an almost global phenomenon, and as a cure, good practices for dealing with it are not lacking. Specifically, one cannot overlook the detailed studies concerning the causes of high levels of corruption, which are more or less similar in all countries affected by the phenomenon and Albania is no exception.
